Your African holiday tour can incorporate either South Africa or just East Africa,
but for the Best African Experience we offer you a popular 10 day combination
fully guided tour plan itinerary to get you started. On the South African tour
portion you can elect to selfdrive thereby saving on guide costs. The tour may
be run in reverse order to that shown. The following is based on 4 travellers,
being two couples sharing.
Day 1 : arrive Cape Town. Meet & Greet
Transfer to your Victoria & Alfred Waterfront 5* Hotel. Depending on arrival
time certain activities may be possible. The Cape Town V&A Waterfront
is the main tourist area abounding with shops, restaurants, boat trips, aquarium
and many other attractions. Overnight Cape town B D
Day 2 : A day in and around Cape Town and Peninsular. Activities will
be subject to prevailing weather. Cable car trip up Table Mountain, Tour of
Cape Peninsular Nature Reserve and Cape Point, Boat trip out of Hout Bay to
Seal Island, visit Boulders Beach penguin breeding colony.

Day 3 : Morning tour of Stellenbosch, the winelands capital of
South Africa where guests can sample and order wine to be shipped directly back
home. Early light

lunch for guests own account if required on a wine farm. Continue inland to
the ostrich capital in the Small Karoo town of Oudtshoorn, arriving late afternoon.

Day 4 : Depart for Knysna after a morning tour incorporating Cango Caves,
Cango wildlife Ranch, ostrich farm, and onto Knysna on the Lagoon arriving late
afternoon. Your 4* Hotel overlooks the Knysna marina. Overnight Knysna B L D
Day 5 : Knysna and around. Depending on the season we either do -
A lagoon cruise and nature trail through the fynbos on the Western Head entrance
to the lagoon. OR between mid-June to mid-Nov we do a boat-based Whale Safari
out to sea.
Afterwards we visit Monkeyland for a fascinating one hour informative and
educational guided walk with the small monkeys in their natural habitat.

Day 6 : Guided tour only - You board the last scheduled steam train in
South Africa for a two and a half hour trip to George crossing the Knysna lagoon,
steaming on through the forests, crossing rivers and the Kaaimans River mouth
bridge. Your guide collects you and transfers you to George airport for your
flight to Nairobi via Johannesburg

Day
6 - You board the Friday 14.00 flight to Johannesburg, connecting with the
evening flight to Nairobi. Arrive Nairobi at 23.55
Day 6 - Arrival Jomo Kenyatta Airport, Meet & Greet your guide
and transfer to the historically famous 5* Norfolk Hotel, Nairobi B
Day 7 : After breakfast you check out and your guide takes you north
to the Aberdare Country Club for lunch. After lunch, you will be transferred
to the Ark Tree Hotel. The lodge is built on stilts and overlooks a waterhole.
The game viewing is done from your balcony and the wildlife come to you! The

Day 8 : Transfer back to the Aberdare Country Club to collect your excess
luggage before driving to the northern frontier district of Samburu, game drive
to the Samburu Serena for lunch. Afternoon game drive hoping to see the herds
of elephants which have made Samburu so famous. Overnight Serena B L D
Day 9 :Spent exploring Samburu and Buffalo Springs reserves and viewing
wildlife. With its dramatically stark scenery, the winding Uaso Nyiro
river and riverine

vegetation giving way to the semi-desert scenery with the distinctive Doum Palms
and their backdrop of the blue mountains of the Wharguess and Ololokwe this
is one of the most beautiful game reserves in Africa. Overnight Samburu. B D
Day 10 :Game drive leaving Samburu and heading for the famous Mount Kenya
Safari Club, arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon at leisure to explore the
beautiful gardens, visit the game sanctuary or enjoy a game of golf with Mount

Day 11 : After breakfast transfer back to Jomo Kenyatta airport to connect
with your homeward flight. B

Kenya Birding safaris
Birding safaris where you cannot ignore Kenya's fine wildlife and flora. It
takes keen birders, bird lovers ,birdwatchers with walking along and out of
nature trails. Only with an ornithological trained guide would be of great
assistance.

Kenya is known for it's bird species at least (1080) at comparative ease
where so many species can be seen in a relatively short period in stimulating
surroundings. Kenya holds world record for most species seen in 24 hours (342
in November 1986) and has scarcely 12 hours of daylight. Kenya holds 1322
different species, which makes one of the seven great bird areas in the world.

EAS 01
13 DAYS BIRD WILDERNESS
From mountain moorland, through Rift Valley, Acacia bush, dense Kakamega forest,
lakes ,swamps ,grasslands and national parks. hoping to see over 400 species
of birds and great diversity of mammals ,insects ,spiders, fungi and trees.
Day 1: Departure from Nairobi for Mt Kenya arriving for lunch. Afternoon birding
along the nearby forest trails or wait for wildlife at nearby saltlick. hope
to see Olive & Bronze napped pigeons, Silvery Cheeked hornbills, Ruppels
Robin Chat, White-starred Forest Robin, Mountain Greenbul, Stuhlmans sterling
and may be Vereaux Eagle .Overnight at a Lodge.
Day 2: An early breakfast, drive to slopes of Mt Kenya through numerous vegetation
zones and onto 10,000 ft Afro- alpine moorland. Return on afternoon for bird
walk along the river line forests. hope to see;

Black duck, Hartulabs Turaco, Crowned hornbill, Paradise flycatchers and eight
species of sunbirds Over night at a Lodge.
DAY 3-4: Early morning departure over the Great Rift Valley onto on to Sosyambu
wildlife sanctuary. Outstanding night game drives & nature/bird walks
which is a truly memorable locality. Famous for flamingos, Pelicans and water
birds but equally rich in Narina Trogon, Arrow-marked Babbler and Red -headed
weaver ,Hildebrand's Francolin ,Montane and Dusky Night jars. Full day visit
to lake Nakuru National Park. Two overnights at a camp.
DAY 5-6 After a short drive north ,past hot springs of lake Bogoria and onto
L. Baringo. Afternoon boat excursion to view Hippo, Crocodiles and water birds
at close range.Dark Chanting Goshwak, Silverbird, Cliffchats, Jackson's and
Yellow-billed hornbills, brown- tailed Rock Chat, Bristle-crowned Startling,
Verreaux Eagle and Spotted Eagle Owl. Overnight at a lodge.
DAY 7-8: Full day drive over Tugen hills ,through the Kerio valley and Serikwa
plateau and finally to Kakamega forest, a rain forest with its flora and fauna
fascinating. Specialities include Great Blue Turaco , Emerald Cuckoo ,Blue
Headed Bee Eater,Black and White Casked Hornbill, Black-billed and Viellot's
Black Weavers. Overnight at a Resort
DAY 9-12: After breakfast drive past L.Victoria to The Maasai Mara Game Reseve,
East Africa finest wildlife Park. All the Big Five ,Black Rhino ,Elephant
,Lion, Cheetah, Leopard ,Zebra, Wild beast, Heartbeast, Topi, Eland, Thompson
and Grant Gazelles and many more along side Open -billed Storks, Temminck's
Courser, Yellow-throated Sangrouse, Usambiro Barbet and Denham's Bustard and
many more. nature walks along side a Maasai guide. Four nights at a Camp.
DAY 13: After morning game drive return to Nairobi arriving on afternoon to
