Day
1 : You arrive at Mumbai, transfer from airport to a hotel. Rest of the
day at leisure. Overnight stay at Mumbai.
Day 2 : Transfer to airport to catch a Indian Airlines flight for Mahabalipuram.Transfer
from airport to a hotel in Mahabalipuram . Afternoon city tour of Mahabalipuram,
which was once the principal port of the Pallavas who ruled between the 6th
and 9th century AD. "The City of Seven Pagodas" is nothing less than
a breathtaking display of masterful sculpture carved out of solid rocks of granite,
the Shore Temple - a splendid example of early temple construction in the South,
Penance of Bhagirata the worlds largest bas-relief, also known as "Arjuna's
Penance". Overnight stay.
Day 3 : Leave for a tour of Kanchipuram, the city of a thousand temples.
once the Capital of pallavas, Kanchipuram still contains no less than one twenty
four shrines. The temples were built mainly by two rulars Mahendra and Mamalla
Narashimha Parman. Typical of their architecture is the Kailsnatha Temple dedicated
to Siva, believed to be 1200 years old . Other important one Is the 16th century
Ekambasreshwar Temple, Kamakshi Temple and Vaikunta Perumal. Kanchipuram is
the center of silk weaving and is famous its saris and materials. Return to
the hotel. Overnight stay.
Day 4 : Transfer to Chennai airport to catch the Indian airlines flight
to Tiruchirapali.On reaching Tiruchirapali transfer to a hotel. Morning free.
City tour of Trichy visiting RockFort, Siragam and Jambukeshwar Temples. Trichy's
historic associations stretch from Chola times to the 18th century Karnataka
war, when Britain and France espoused the aspiration of rival princes. Dinner
and overnight at the hotel.
Day 5 : Leave for Madurai by road enroute visiting Thanjavur .Thanjaur
was the seat of the Chola Empire from the 10th to the 14th

century
and it was a Chola King , Rajah Chola who built the greatest of its 74 temples,
the Birhadeshwar Temple which is more than 200 feet tall in the Dravidian truncated
pyramid form, and has a huge lingam in its sanctorium. In the inner shiner of
the temple , one sees India's second largest statue of Nandi the Bull , the
mount of the God Shiva. Arrive at Madurai and check into a hotel.
Day 6 : Madurai's history goes back to six centuries before Christ .
The Pandyan rulers made this their capital tilll the 14th century and the city
flowered with the genius of its writer, builders, poets, and academics. Then
the Nayaks ruled Madurai from the middle of the 16th century to 1743. The ten
tall Gopurams of the Meenaskshi Temple were raised during their dynasty. There
is a huge complex of temples with Gandhi Museum and Temple at Alaghar Koli,
enroute we visit Elephant Rock. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 7 : Leave for Thekkady and check into a hotel. In the Afternoon take
a motorboat cruise on lake Periyar in the Periyar wild life Sanctuary enjoying
the wild life. Overnight stay.
Day 8 : Morning wild life safari on elephants. Afternoon free for independent
activities. Overnight stay.
Day 9 : Leave by road for Alappuzha and check in at a hotel . Afternoon
sightseeing at Alappuzha.Overnight stay at Alappuzha.
Day 10 : Leave by boat to enjoy the tranquil backwaters of Kerala . Then
you drive to Cochin and check in at a hotel. Overnight stay.
Day 11 : Morning sightseeing by visiting the Jewish Synagogue , St. Francis
Church , Dutch Palace ,Chinese Fishing nets and the shopping center . Afternoon
at leisure. Overnight stay at Cochin.
Day 12 : Drive to Trivandrum and check in at a hotel . Rest of the day
at leisure. Overnight stay.
Day 13 : Full day excursion to Cape Comorin, Kanniyakumari. Overnight
stay at Trivandrum.
Day 14 : A day at leisure. Overnight stay at Trivandrum.
Day 15 : Transfer to the airport to catch a flight for Bombay. On reaching
Bombay you leave for your onward destinations.
