it is enclosed by scenic mountains. One must mention the Swiss bank account,

and Zürich one of Europes major financial centers acting as a major
center for conventions, meetings.
Besides, being the base for many industrial, economic and political activities
world wide, Switzerland is also the place visited for the treasure of its natural
beauty, eye-catching locations, unforgettable ski resorts, famous Swiss alps,

DAY 1 :
: Arrival in Switzerland through any of the International airports of Zurich
or Geneva or any Swiss border and transfer by train to Interlaken - a mecca
for visitors who never have enough of spectacular scenery. Day at leisureto
exploit Interlaken's Hoheweg - an inviting 700 meter

long
boulevard with hotels, cosy cafes, fashion boutiques, watch and jewellery stores.
As dawn draws near admire the mountains by taking an evening trip on Lake Thun
or Lake Brienz. Overnight stay in Interlaken.
DAY 2 : : Excursion from Interlaken upto Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe.
This memorable train trip from Interlaken Ost takes you via Lauterbrunnen and
Wengen to the Kleine Scheidegg, at the foot of the famous Eiger North Wall.
Then ascent by the Kleine Scheidegg, to the magnificent mountain world of eternal
ice and snow, Jungfraujoch - at 3454 m, the highest railway station in Europe.
Visit the Ice Palace and Sphinx Terraces offering breathtaking views of the
Aletsch Glacier, the longest glacier in the Apls. Overnight stay in Interlaken.
DAY 3 : : Rail trip by Brunig Express from Interlaken to the city of
lights - Lucerne (panoramic coach seats in 1st class only) Day at leisure or
visit the Swiss Transport Museum, the new IMAX Theatre or the Lion Monument
on you own. Overnight stay in Lucerne.
DAY 4 : : Lake Lucerne cruise from Lucerne to Alpnachstad, then up to
Pilatus by the steepest cogwheel railway in the world (from June to end of September),
during winter you take the bus from Lucerne to Kriens and further a panoramic
gondola from Kriens to Pilatus. Overnight stay in Lucerne.
DAY 5 : : Return to the airport or continue you stay in Switzerland.
ITINERARY - 2
DAY 1 : : Arrive into Switzerland by International airport and transfer
by train to Grindelwald or Wengen. Stay in Grindelwald or Wengen. Rest of the
day free. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 2 : : Full day Excursion to the Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe. The train
takes you upto Kleine Scheidegg, at the foot of the famous Eiger North Wall.
Further by Jungfrau Railway to the Jungfraujoch - at Breathtaking views of the
Aletsch Glacier, the longest glacier in the Alps. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 3 : : Travel through the wonderful Bernese Oberland and the Lotscheberg
to Brig and further through the Centovalli in Italy to Lugano/Locarno (Schengen
visa required) or you can travel from Grindelwald/wengen via Lucerne through
the Gotthard region to Lugano/Locarno. Overnight in Lugano/Locarno.
DAY 4 : : Day at leisure. Several attractive excursion opportunities await
you. Your "Specials of Switzerland" ticket entitles you to 50 % off
on rail travel. Overnight stay in Lugano/Locarno.
Major attractions
Bern, the Capital City :
Bern is the capital of Switzerland and of Bern canton and lies in the west of
the country on the River Aare. It is the second most populous and second largest

canton of
the country. It comprises of three sections firstly, the Bernese Alps
or Oberland with many resorts and peaks, secondly the Finsteraarhorn
and Jungfrau with meadows and pastures in the valleys and finally the
Mittelland [midlands] which lies in the fertile northern foothills of
the Alps.
Château de Chillon :
Chillon Castle is the most popular historical
site in Switzerland. The monument stands right on Lake Geneva and
the enchanting fortress came into light when Lord Byron wrote about
the fate of Bonivard, a follower of the Reformation who was chained
to the fifth pillar in the dungeons for four years in the 16th
century. The castle belongs to 11th century which has been much
modified and expanded since then.
Great St Bernard Pass Hospice Museum :
The museum throws light on
the importance of the monks' rescue work and religious vocation,
which go back to the 11th century
Jungfrau Region :
Some of Switzerland's most eye-catching vistas
and sites are found around the peaks of the Jungfrau, Mönch and
Eiger, the surroundings of which are made magnificent due to
the greens, and golds of nearby hills and valleys. The highest
railway in Europe, known to be the best rail trip finds its way
through both the Eiger and the Mönch before concluding at the tip
of the awesome Jungfraujoch.
