Terms and ConditionsAll Rates Printed in This Handbook are Subject to Following Terms and Conditions :- RATES a) All rates quoted are nett in US Dollars and confidential. b) Based on tariffs of the Hoteliers and Transporters with effect from 1 October 2002. c) Subject to change in case the Hoteliers/Transporters revise their tariffs at a later date. d) All hotels and transport rates quoted in the Tariff include the applicable Government/Local Taxes as of 1st October' 2002 Any other tax if levied by the authorities at a later date, will be payable extra. TRANSPORT RATES a) Car transportation rates are based on large and medium cars. In India, a maximum of 3 pax, a guide and chaueffer are permitted to travel per car. Large cars can only be provided in certain cities like Agra, Amritsar, Aurangabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Chennai and Pune. b) All transportation rates are based on non-airconditioned vehicles. There is a 50% supplement for airconditioned cars/coaches at all places where available (except in Mumbai and Chennai where it is approximately 150%.) c) Rates for transfers include assistance by our representatives and porterage at the airport. d) Cars and coaches owned by private enterpreneurs provide Insurance covers only in Indian rupees according to Indian regulations. The vehicles of State Governments such as Jammu & Kashmir Government used on Srinagar-Leh-Srinagar route are not insured. All bookings are accepted subject to the acceptance of these conditions. SIGHTSEEING AND EXCURSION RATES a) Rates for sightseeing and excursions include enterance fee and charges for local English speaking guides. Entrance fees to some of the heritage monument coming under archeological Survey of India, payable in US Dollar or equvelent Indian Rupees will be payable extra. Details given on Page No. 105-106 b) All sightseeing and excursions originate from hotels. For tours originating from other places, additional transportation cost will have to be included. HOTEL RATES a) Rates are generally revised every year w.e.f. 1st October. Rates mentioned in this tariff are valid upto 30th September 2003, unless specified otherwise. b) Hotel rates quoted are on the basis of the maximum rate in each grade and include service charges and local taxes. c) Most hotels offer complimentary accommodation to 1 bonafide Tour leader of a group consisting of at least 15 paying persons. d) The check-in/check-out time in hotels in India is 1200 noon. Visitors arriving earlier and requiring immediate occupancy or departing late will have to pay charges for an additional day. e) European Plan rates represent room charges only. f) Circuit Houses, PWD Bungalows, Railway Retiring Rooms and Rest Houses owned by Government, charges US Dollars 12.00 per day per person. ESCORTS Escort services are not included for excursions outside the base station. If required, the daily remuneration would be US Dollars 50 per day + all expenses, such as airfare, hotel accommodation, meals etc. MISCELLANEOUS EXPENSES Cost of cables, telexes and long distance telephones calls, if necessary for urgent confirmation, are chargeable to clients directly. FLIGHT RESERVATIONS Indian Airlines now has computerised reservation centre at almost all cities and they are linked to the Central Space Control at Delhi. The facility has made easy to request for all domestic sectors through the initial carrier or directly with Indian airlines Delhi. Indian Airlines need complete passenger list 21 days in advance and the complete ticketing details 15 days prior to the first travel date, failing which the bookings are released automatically. PAYMENTS All payments should be made in Foreign Exchange. Full payment should be made in advance either by bank drafts drawn in favour of SWAGATAM TOURS AND TRAVELS LTD., NEW DELHI or by Fedwire using following : 1) Remittance to be made to : Standard Chartered Bank, New Delhi. Ltd. 401, Keltron Chambers, 18/7, Arya Samaj Road, New Delhi. 3) Intermediary Bank / Correspondent Bank : Standard Chartered Bank, New York. Account Number : 3582-088635-001 Swift No. : SCBLUS33 Under advise to us atleast 30 days prior to the arrival of the groups and 15 days prior to the arrival of the FITs. CANCELLATIONS All hotels in India insist on one months' clear notice for cancellation on substantial reduction in Group bookings. For bigger movements like charters etc the notice period for cancellation is correspondingly more. Group booking cancellations with less than one months clear notice are subject to 01 night minimum cancellation charges for each hotel bookings. For FIT's upto 3 members the minimum clear notice period required is 24 hours: between 4-8 members, 1 week and between 9-14 members 15 days. In case of cancellations, we reserve the right to charge US $ 50 to US $ 150 as handling fees to defray the expenses already incurred on communications etc. REFUNDS Refunds will be made on specified arrangements already made but not utilised, less cancellations charges, if any. Sufficient advance notice is required to avoid last minute cancellation charges. LIABILITY Swagatam Tours and Travels Ltd, while undertaking tours, transportation, hotel accommodation and other services only acts as an agent on the clear understanding that it shall not be, in any way, responsible or liable for any accident, damages, loss, delay or inconvenience caused in connection with the travel facilities arranged by the company, its employees or agents. All bookings are accepted and executed with utmost care, yet no responsibility is undertaken for any change or deviation on account of factors beyond our control. Swagatam Tours and Travels Ltd reserves the right to modify any arrangements required by and made on behalf of clients and to cancell the same without prior notice. GENERAL INFORMATIONS VISA All foreign tourists visiting India must be in possession of valid Passport and Visa. An Indian Visa is readily available from your nearest Indian Consulate. In countries where there is no Indian Diplomatic mission, normally the British Consulate will issue the Visa. Please ensure that you obtain the MULTIPLE ENTRY TOURIST VISA since this simplifies the procedure for visiting neighbouring countries like Nepal and Sri Lanka. Indians holding foreign citizenship and foreign passports would also have to obtain Visa before entering India. TRANSIT VISA The Government has introduced the facility of providing Transit Visa for a maximum period of 72 hours for those passengers transitting through India and holding a confirmed booking for the onward travel. CUSTOMS Indian Customs are courteous to people with Tourist Visa/Card and though the rules and regulations may vary from time to time, generally the free allowance includes all your personal belongings. CURRENCY There is no restriction on import of foreign currency into India provided it is declared at the time of entry. The amount declared on entry can be taken out. Import and export of Indian currency is illegal. HEALTH Yellow fever certificate is required from persons arriving from epidemic areas. LIQUOR PERMIT All India Liquor permits are issued by the Indian Visa issuing authorities and the Government of India Tourist Offices. We strongly recommend that while obtaining Visas, please also obtain All India Liquor Permits before arriving into India. This permit will enable you to buy alcoholic drinks in the dry states in India such as Gujarat. SPECIAL PERMIT Tourists visiting restricted areas in India like Sikkim, Laccadives and certain parts of Assam etc will require special entry permits from the Government of India. Special permits are also required from the Government of India and Bhutan mission for visiting Bhutan. Applications for such permits should be sent to us at least 6 to 8 weeks before the arrival so that we can approach the authorities for processing and issuing such permits. CLOTHINGS Woollens are required while visiting the Northern and Eastern parts of India during the winter months i.e. OCT to FEB. Tropicals and cottons will be sufficient throughout the year for rest of India. ABBREVIATIONS EP : European Plan (Room Only) ABF : American Breakfast CP : Continental Plan (Room +Breakfast) MAP : Modified American Plan (Room + American Breakfast + Either Lunch or Dinner) AP : American Plan (Room + American Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner) MEALS RATES AND EXTRA BED a) All rates printed are specified against meal plan i.e. EP/CP/MAP/AP. b) For approximate meal charges we suggest as follows: 5 Star Hotels ABF US $14, Lunch US $20, Dinner US $22, Extra Bed US $25. 4 Star Hotels ABF US $11, Lunch US $14, Dinner US $16, Extra Bed US $20. 3 Star Hotels ABF US $6, Lunch US $9, Dinner US $10, Extra Bed US $15. |
