Walt Disney Tours
Introduction
Welcome to Chris's Walt Disney World! There's something here for everybody,
from first-timers to old WDW pros. Here you'll find complete, detailed descriptions
of every attraction at Walt Disney World. You'll be able to stump your friends
with trivia from every attraction, sing along with your favorite Disney theme
park music, even test your own knowledge of the resort on "Who Wants to
Be A Mouseketeer?". Plus, lots more!
Poor Cinderella Castle.
As the oldest park symbol at Walt Disney World, it's also the only one that
hasn't been built (Animal Kingdom's Tree of Life), refurbished (Epcot's Spaceship
Earth), or replaced (Disney Studios' Chinese Theatre) in the last 6 years.
Compared to the sparkling of the Epcot logo above Spaceship Earth and the
dazzling light patterns of Disney Studios' new Sorceror Mickey Hat (Animal
Kingdom closes at dark), the royal symbol of Magic Kingdom looks pretty dull
after the sun sets. Right now, the only special lighting used for Cindy's
house is a set of colored floodlights. ("Hey look, kids, LOOK!! The castle's
turning green... Oh, will you look at THAT! Now it's hot pink! Now it's...green
again...)
But it seems the folks at Imagineering won't keep it that way for long.
Seen in the background of some recent Travel Channel Disney theme park specials
was a model of the castle, covered with thousands of fiber-optic lights. The
result? During the day, the castle would appear no different, but at night,
any number of enchanting tricks could be performed. One effect had ribbons
of light periodically sweeping across, making the castle appear to shimmer.
As amazing as it was in miniature proportion, I can only imagine how incredible
it would appear in full size. Hopefully this project will get the greenlight,
and Cinderella Castle will return to it's status as Walt Disney World's most
astonishing symbol.

On a more personal note, I have just accepted an internship at Walt Disney
World! I will be there from January through August of next year. I will be
working as a Job Hopper, which means I will be switching between two or more
jobs while I'm there. I will let you all know where I will be working as soon
as I know! If any of you are planning a trip to WDW next year and have found
this site useful, I would love to hear from you in person! Until then, you
can always e-mail me at Chris.Disney@welcome.to. See you soon!
No waiting in line for Space Mountain? Impossible. At least it was until Walt
Disney World unveiled it's innovative new FastPass system. Never heard of
it, or just want to know more? Then take a look at Chris's Walt Disney World
FastPass page, the newest feature on our site.
Chris's WDW has adopted this pup, born June 27, 1999, from 101 Dalmations. (You
can get one for your site here.) His name, as voted for by guests of the site,
is Lil' Walt, and he is this site's mascot. You can pet him if you like, I don't
think he will bite. Not after last year's incident, anyway... Just be sure to
clean your fingerprints off of the monitor when you're through.
History
of Walt Disney Studios Park
Following the commercial success of Disneyland Park, Disneyland Resort Paris
decided to open a second gate next to the first one in 2002. But as the budget
went down and the park shrunk in size and ambition, it didn't attract as many
visitors as it was hoped it would.
When to Visit Walt
Disney
When is the best time to visit?
Any time of the year, considering lines are pretty short every day.
Where should I stay?
You can read reader reviews and check room rates for hotels in and near Walt
Disney Studios Park on our Disneyland Paris hotels page.
Reaching Walt Disney
How do I get tickets to Walt Disney Studios Park?
At the main entrance, on the internet, or in specialized stores.
What's new at Walt Disney Studios Park?
Nothing is new since 2002, besides some small streetmospheres.
Plan
your day at Walt Disney Studios Park

Start with the best: Rock'n Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith. Don't miss
Moteurs...Action! Stunt Show (there are only 2 shows per day depending on
the season) and the often overlooked Cinémagique. Visit Disney Channel
Cyberspace either right in the morning or in the evening, because lines can
get very long to ride CyberSpace Mountain, due to small capacity.
Is Walt Disney Studios Park safe?
Like at all major theme parks, you'll be safer in Walt Disney Studios Park
than you'll be on the highway driving there. Check our Accident Watch section
for recent injury accidents at Walt Disney Studios Park.
Parents should also be sure to take a look at our list of rides with height
restrictions at Walt Disney Studios Park. For more tips to help ensure that
you and your family stay safe, visit our theme park safety tips page.
What's coming next to Walt Disney Studios Park?
To make it more appealing to guests of all ages, Disneyland Resort Paris is
finally investing some money in the park. Year 2006 will see the appearance
of many photo locations in the park, general embellishment and maybe a children
playground. In 2007, a whole new land, Toon Studios, will open its gates next
to Animation courtyard. It will feature a highly themed indoor spinning coaster
based on "Finding Nemo" and a kiddie ride based on the next Pixar
movie, "Cars". Finally in early 2008, the long awaited Tower of
Terror will open its doors to the guests. It will be a clone of the California
version.
Attraction
in Walt Disney
Attractions for Walt Disney World

The ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter at the Magic Kingdom's Tomorrowland
never quite hit the mark. It freaked younger kids out with its lights-out
moments, loud noises, and its confining, torture chamber-like harness contraptions.
Older kids and adults, however, found it more cheesy than terror-filled. The
attraction closed last year and will reopen later this year as Stitch's Great
Escape!
Using the same general concept and features of Alien Encounter, the focus
will be on the lovable and mischievous alien, Stitch, from the popular "Lilo
and..." animated film instead of the slimy alien that previously ran
amok in the theater. The lighter tone should make the attraction more accessible
for impressionable kids. Disney is promising some cutting-edge animatronics
for Stitch's Great Escape!
The Pop Century Resort, Walt Disney World's second value-level hotel property,
opened in December 2003.
The low-frills, high-concept resort features huge pop culture icons from
the latter part of the 20th century, such as a Rubik's Cube and a Foosball
game, on display throughout the grounds. The nostalgic fun extends throughout
the resort; for example, the food court serves tie-dyed cheesecake and meals
on aluminum TV Dinner trays.
Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa, part of the Disney Vacation Club program,
will open later this year. The 552-unit property, the largest of the Vacation
Club properties, will include one- and two-bedroom villas and will be themed
to the grand upstate New York retreats recalled in the film, "Seabiscuit."
While the resort will be geared to participants in Disney's timeshare program,
Walt Disney World will also offer available rooms to the general public.

Coming Next
In 2005, a clone of Soarin' Over California, the simulator ride that whisks
guests above the Golden State's most famous sites, will occupy the space that
had been used for the Food Rocks presentation in Epcot's The Land pavilion.
The popular attraction is one of the highlights at Disney's California Adventure
in Anaheim.
2005 will also see another imported attraction, Disneyland Paris' Stunt Show
Spectacular, set up residence at Walt Disney World. There will be plenty of
car crashes, motorcycle acrobatics, and jet ski near-misses when the show
debuts in the redesigned backlot area of Disney-MGM Studios.

Animal Kingdom in late 2005.
